Southeastern Community Action Partnership (SCAP) held its annual Board Leadership & Governance Summit to welcome new board members, facilitate board and governance training, and to embark on strategy and team building.
“It’s essential for the board of directors and executive leadership team to come together and collaboratively work on agency goals and how we can propel forward,” said Dr. Ericka J. Whitaker, CEO. “We had awesome presenters come to our summit and share their knowledge. This is always a great time for us to get together, and dive into the work we do while learning tools and tips from some of the best in their industries.”
The Executive Committee for SCAP includes the new Board Chair, Shirley Hart, Carl Parker, Vice Chairperson, Tony Spaulding, Secretary, and Loretta Schmitzer, Treasurer.
The 3-day summit included sessions from DeBerryTree Marketing & Strategy, Rowhill Consulting Group, The Health Debt Coach, David Girt, and governance training and updates from the North Carolina Community Action Association. Attendees also participated in leadership simulations, wellness exercises, and more.
“We are grateful for this time to be able to come together with our executive team and board of directors as we continue to move on a pathway of excellence and dedication to the communities we serve,” said Shirley Hart, Board Chair.
