Parent of the Year Spotlight: Mrs. Ashley Penninger

Mrs. Ashley Penninger has been an invaluable part of Piney Grove Head Start since 2022. In addition to volunteering at the center, she serves as the Policy Council Representative and Parent Committee Secretary, demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting both families and staff.

As a full-time mother of six children, Mrs. Penninger continues to actively participate in Head Start programs, events, and activities. She embraces her role as her children’s first teacher while recognizing the essential services Head Start provides to support their future school success. Her dedication to staying engaged in her children’s education reflects the true spirit of the Head Start mission.

In recognition of her outstanding volunteer service and continued dedication, Mrs. Penninger proudly represents Piney Grove Head Start as our Parent of the Year.

She has also submitted an application for the North Carolina Head Start Association (NCHSA) Parent of the Year Award, representing the SCAP, Inc. Head Start Preschool Program at the state level.
