New Kitchen Appliances Dedicated to Mt. Olive Head Start Center
Whiteville, North Carolina – August 30, 2024 – The Annie Catherine Pridgen Community Development Foundation, LLC (ACP), in partnership with the North Carolina Columbus County Community Foundation, a leading nonprofit dedicated to empowering residents of underserved local communities by providing essential resources to improve their quality of life, is excited to announce the dedication of newly upgraded kitchen appliances at the Mount Olive Head Start facility. This significant enhancement will greatly improve our ability to serve the community by providing better resources for our Mount Olive Head Start Kitchen Recovery and Health Forward Initiative Program.
The new kitchen appliances, including a commercial refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and milk cooler, were made possible through the generous support of the Columbus County Community Development Foundation (CDF). These upgrades will enable the Mount Olive Head Start Program to prepare meals more efficiently, increase the number of meals served, and enhance food safety standards.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support from the North Carolina Columbus County Community Foundation,” said Delphia McCoy, Executive Director of The ACP Community Development Foundation. “These new appliances will allow us to enhance our services and better meet the needs of our community. This dedication marks a significant milestone in one of our ongoing efforts to enable us to better serve and feed the children and families of Columbus County. With a focus on combating food insecurity and poverty, this initiative seeks to empower underserved local communities with vital resources to enhance their quality of life.”
